Why A Masters Degree?
A letter from our founders
In late 2024, we made the bold decision to pursue registration and accreditation for our program as a Master’s Degree in the United States. Why take on this challenging and costly endeavor?
Because it’s time for a change.
This degree will provide a pathway for our students to become licensed Therapists, significantly boosting their earning potential and enabling them to list their services on platforms like Psychology Today and BetterHelp—where most people search for therapists.
Conventional education is outdated, disembodied, and detached from the realities of trauma and its deep connections to the physical body. Modern therapists need training that integrates somatic, mind-body approaches rooted in a profound understanding of trauma.
We’re designing what we believe will be the most affordable and accessible Master’s Degree in Psychology in the United States—a program that makes common sense.
As therapy licensure becomes increasingly time-consuming and expensive, many are turning away from higher education altogether. Coaching certifications, while shorter and cheaper, often fail to adequately prepare practitioners for meaningful client work.
Our program bridges the gap, combining the hands-on, experiential approach of professional training with the academic depth and accreditation of a degree.
FAQ:
Will I become a Therapist from this program? Each state has different regulation around the use of the term “therapist.” In most states, you can refer to yourself as a Therapist, so long as you don’t refer to yourself as a “Licensed Therapist” without an active therapy license.
Will I be able to transfer credits towards the degree? Yes. All training hours from our Psychosomatic Practitioner training will go towards this degree. It will account for 6 of the 20 academic credit hours for the degree. We will also be accepting transfer credits from non-conventional education like yoga trainings, massage training, and other integrative health education, as those are essential to our curriculum.
How long will it take? How much will the degree cost? The program will be extremely flexible, and take between 21-36 months. We are aiming to make it one of the most affordable in the country.
What are the pre-requisites? You will need a completed bachelors degree in any subject. You can still take the entire program without a bachelors degree, however you will only receive a professional credential and not an accredited Masters Degree.
