Therapy needs an update.

Learn about our mission to reinvent therapy to make it more somatic and integrative.

Our Story:

The Integrative Psychology Institute is a mission to reimagine mental health and transform the therapeutic landscape. We believe psychology education is in dire need of an update, making the tools more integrative, trauma-informed, and practical for modern students.

Conventional therapy focuses primarily on the mind while ignoring the critical connection to the body and its role in processing trauma. We cannot treat trauma objectively without acknowledging its critical interactions with the body and physical health. The key to building lasting mental health is to focus on the roots of trauma that live in the cells. This approach is at the very forefront of mental health science.

We heal trauma by boldly by striving for well-being and transforming internal challenges as we do. As we meet these challenges, their transformation becomes evidence that we are resilient.

We dream of a world where we no longer pathologize our challenges and instead proactively build resilience to process the inevitable challenges of life. Our trainings are a deep dive into all the nuance and subtlety of the nervous system and a journey to embody a living example of radical wellbeing. They are deep journeys of inner spiritual work that will give you a strong foundation of somatic tools you can apply to whatever you do next. We hope to set a living example and a community you can draw inspiration from throughout your career.

“It’s impossible to treat trauma objectively without acknowledging the myriad ways physical health influences it.”

Trauma Lives in The Body Cells.

We are pushing the forefront of understanding trauma and how it manifests in the cells of each body system. Our training uniquely trains students on the interactions between functional and mental health.

Principles Of Embodied Learning:

Here’s what you can expect in all our classrooms.

  • We believe in embodied learning. True understanding comes from engaging our bodies, emotions, and senses in real situations. Instead of passively absorbing information, we practice them, explore their nuances, and integrate knowledge on a deeper level. This hands-on approach cultivates authentic mastery and meaningful personal growth.

  • Stories shape how we understand ourselves and the world. By weaving concepts into real-life examples or case studies, students see how ideas translate into practice. Narrative-based learning sparks curiosity, empathy, and reflection, making it easier to retain information and connect lessons to meaningful, everyday experiences.

  • We encourage our students to practice holding space right away, leaning into the fear of leading others. Early practical engagement helps students bridge theory and reality, revealing knowledge gaps and building competence through trial and reflection. Working on real tasks or with real clients fosters confidence, sharpens problem-solving skills, and prepares learners for the professional world from day one.

  • We believe expert teachers aren’t just academics—they actively practice what they teach. By embodying these principles in their own lives, they bring depth, authenticity, and lived experience into the classroom. Their engaging teaching style and strong communication skills inspire students to explore, question, and apply their learning with confidence.
