Are you seeking deeper sensitivity and skill with trauma?
Do you want to embody a more regulated nervous system and expand your inner warmth and kindness toward yourself and others?
Do you want to establish a foundation of truly effective, functional practices to use with clients as trauma arises?
Every day we are all confronted with what feels like an overwhelming wave of disconnection, depression, and loss of hope. Our aim in this training is to turn these tides back in the direction of truly thriving mental health.
This training explores trauma healing and mental health from a unique perspective: We heal trauma not by limiting our focus to the trauma memory and sensation but by boldly striving for well-being, while acknowledging and transforming the challenges and emotional barriers that arise as we do. As we meet these challenges and move through them, their transformation becomes evidence that we are resilient, strong, and capable.
This training is built around our Four Principle Indicators of Mental Health:
1. Ability to direct your experience through conscious choice.
2. Congruence between inner experience and outward expression.
3. An expanding capacity to experience a spectrum of emotions, energies, and environments.
4. Ability to connect with meaning & purpose for living and meeting challenges.
We will explore each of these capacities, focusing on personal embodiment, practice, and application in day-to-day life & relationship. You will learn practices to support you in each of these, as well as theoretical frameworks to help you practice with more clarity and precision. Our primary goal is to enter a process of embodiment and discovery around these principles, while also acknowledging and moving through our personal challenges that come in the way. Our group acts as a support system and reflection point for you as you go into this collective journey.
This training introduces the unique perspective that trauma is not stored in the body. It’s stored in the cells. You’ll be guided by our Co-founder Dr. Christian Gonzalez through a unique understanding of functional health considerations and their impact on mental health, trauma, and healing. This includes:
Fascial health and its role in somatic communication and nervous system regulation.
Nutrient deficiencies and how they impact resilience and nervous system function.
Gut biome health and it’s a critical relationship to neurotransmitter production.
The gut-brain axis is related to emotional regulation and nervous system function.
Dopamine mechanisms and their impact on the modern psyche.
We will also explore the foundational principles inspired by Dr. Peter Levine’s Work In Somatic Experiencing and their application in life’s most critical moments. These principles include:
Awareness - Our ability to recognize thoughts, sensations, and emotions in ourselves and in others.
Resource - Anything internal or external—that provides a sense of safety, support, or calm, helping individuals regulate their nervous systems during trauma recovery.
Attunement & Co-regulation - The ability to sense and respond to another person’s emotional and physical state with sensitivity and presence. It involves being fully receptive to their experience, helping them feel seen, understood, and safe.
Titration - The process of slowly and gradually working with traumatic sensations, memories, or emotions in small, manageable doses to prevent overwhelm and support gentle release and integration of stored stress in the nervous system.
